Edward Rivera
Edward Rivera joins the Bethel Music Collective with his first collective single “Nothing Else.” Garnering 14 millions views of him leading this at Bethel Church, Edward finds a special place in his life for this song as it came to life for him after finding spotlight, praise, and accolades still left him with a void. This song is a personal heart cry for Edward!
God has given me a heart for the marginalized, the prodigals, and the unreached.
I tend to think of them when I'm writing or leading, like, "what would they need to hear?" I feel led to be light and salt to the spaces I was taught to avoid like the entertainment industry. In my musical journey I've met incredible musicians and artists who started off in church and for whatever reason they aren't anymore. Those are the ones I feel led to be there for. I feel called to influence the influential.
“Nothing Else” came at a perfect time in my life! I had just gotten off of a year-long tour and I was feeling like I missed something. When the tour was done, I was able to process what I witnessed. I realized that all the applause and support my friends, family, and followers were giving me for all the ministry work I had just completed didn't do anything for me.
It was as if my soul was reminding me that none of that mattered. The real prize was knowing that I had pleased my Father and in turn got to know Him in a deeper way. When I heard Paul McClure lead it and I listened the lyrics, I felt as if I can see my heart on display. Thats' what I was longing for. Not more job opportunities or favor with man. I wanted Him!
